The phrase “out west” means things are not as civilized, or maybe as prim and proper as we’re used to, like the time I was trying to catch a calf to brand him and he kicked me square in the chest. We’re going to dig down deep and boil it down to brass tacks, and it might not be pretty, but it will be the truth, or at least as close as we can get to it.
